Middle East Centre for Training and Development, in partnership with the Cross-Regional Center for Refugees and Migrants (CCRM) conducted a three-day consultation on a national, and regional level, and on the level of journalists on UAE’s labour migration governance and its progress and how this has affected migrant workers’ experiences, and related matters.
On the first day, government and business communities, as well as research organizations in Dubai, UAE participated in the discussions. On the second day, participation from journalists within the region enriched discussions on labor migration reporting in the Gulf, while on the third day, experts within the labor migration field joined participants virtually and engaged in dialogue on the Global Compact on Migration, as well as on the Global Forum on Migration and Development, and on international labor migration discussions.
The workshop aimed to produce collaboration between local and regional stakeholders and experts in the field of labour migration, and highlighted challenges and proposed solutions to overcome such challenges, and to positively impact the labor migration dialogue.
