Middle East Center for Training and Development resumes workers awareness sessions in Dubai 2022

Middle East Center for Training and Development in Dubai resumes to pursue its awareness and training endeavors under the PCLA’s Labour Awareness Program. Demonstrating an enormous success since its initial launch back in 2016, the program once again proceeds to educate more workers on their rights and duties stipulated by the UAE Laws and Regulations. Six awareness sessions have been conducted by Middle East Center for Training and Development Team, during the month of July 2022 only, raising awareness among 720 delivery workers in Dubai.

The Awareness Program, aimed at ensuring Dubai workers know their rights and duties, has been successfully delivered to over 70,000 workers since its start in 2016. The awareness content developed by Middle East Center for Training and Development, covered a variety of essential topics and information, including UAE Culture, Labour and Immigration laws and regulations, health and safety measures, and different government support channels. Besides, the content has been translated into several languages in order to cover as much labour groups as possible.

Middle East Center for Training and Development is committed to continuously enhancing and updating its awareness content, so that it can respond to the constantly changing needs of various labour groups and tackle the emerging challenges. Therefore, the Center’s Team has developed a new awareness content, specially customized for the Delivery Riders in Dubai. The said awareness content focuses on the most essential information to such labour group.

The preliminary results of recent surveys developed by Middle East Center for Training and Development, and distributed among Delivery Riders during awareness sessions, demonstrate a significant increase in the Delivery Riders’ knowledge across all topics covered, including residency and labour laws in the UAE, knowledge of the various types of UAE Government support channels, health and road safety issues, and the acceptable and unacceptable behaviors according to the UAE culture.

Dr. Ahmed Al Hashemi, Consultant to the PCLA and Managing Director of Middle East Centre for Training and Development, stated: “The training program is based on scientific and academic criteria and is being implemented according to international standards of human and labour rights protection. It aims at maintaining the stability of the contractual relationship between employers and workers and prevent labour rights abuses.”
