From September 9 to 11, 2026, the Middle East Centre for Training and Development (MECTD) participated in the Work, Employment & Society (WES) Conference organized by the British Sociological Association (BSA). The event took place at the University of Bath, UK. During the event, MECTD presented a study jointly conducted with the College of Youth Activism and Development (CYAAD), Islamabad, Pakistan. The abstract illustrated a case study of Pakistani migrant workers from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa aspiring to work in Dubai’s gig economy.
