On 16 February 2026, MECTD representatives attended the sixth edition of the Taqdeer Award which took place at Zabeel Halls, World Trade Centre in Dubai. Unfolded in the year 2016, the Taqdeer award recognises and reward excellence in labour relations of distinguished companies operating in the Emirate of Dubai. Companies spanning various sectors such as real estate, manufacturing, professional services, and other vital industries received awards ranging from one to seven stars. It is apt to mention that during the event, the Dubai 7×7 initiative was announced in collaboration between the General Directorate of Identity and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), Dubai and the Dubai Sports Council. Targeting three labour zones, such initiative featuring seven sports over seven consecutive days aimed to involve more than 20,000 members of the workforce across the emirate.
